SPRING BREAK!

We will be on Spring Break from March 29th through April 2nd. Have a fun and safe week. We will see you on Monday, April 5th.

Will We Ever Get Back to School?

I hope that everyone is staying warm inside from our wild weather. I am not sure if we will make it back on Friday, but if not we will hopefully start out our week on Monday. I wanted to let everyone know that our testing went well, and I would like to thank all of our parents that had the kiddos at school on time, and ready to go. If your child was out on Friday, we will make up the missed part of the test on our first day back from our winter blizzard. I am sure that we will move our Count Me In week activities to next week. I will update you by the newsletter when we return. Homework will be due when we return, and we will try and start take home books next week. So far, we have not had a lot of luck with this. Keep reading and doing your homework while you are off. I miss all of you and I hope to see everyone again soon.

Long Weekend

I hope that everyone has enjoyed our long holiday weekend and the snow. We will return to school on Tuesday, Jan. 20th. We will begin the PAS testing on Tuesday and it will run all week long. Please make sure that your child is at school on time and well rested. We will test approximately 30 minutes each day. If your child is sick, please keep them at home and they can make up any portion of the test that they missed. We also have some fun science activities planned for this week. Please check your child's folder on Tuesday. We are having some sharing activities this week. If you have any questions, please email or write.

FIRE DEPT. FIELD TRIP

January is Here!

Parents and Kiddos,

It is hard to believe that we are almost halfway through the year. We will start back on January 5th!! Report cards will go home on Thursday, January 8th. Please remember that assessments for this report period were conducted during the month of December.

We will also have our second round of testing for the kiddos. We will do this during the 2nd and 3rd weeks in January. We will test the students using a new test called the PAS and a second testing period of the DIBELS that we used at the beginning of the year. We will schedule meetings after the testing is finished to discuss the results and things that you can work with your child on at home.

Keep working on popcorn words, creating and writing sentences, counting and writing to 20. We will have some really cool units that go along with our winter months about penguins and polar bears, snow, and Presidents and we will begin working on our money (coins) unit as well. We will also start our addition unit. It is going to be a fun time.

Welcome to the new School Year!

I would like to welcome my new students to Kindergarten for the 2008-2009 school year at the Jessamine Early Learning Village. We have a fun year planned and are ready to learn many new things. We will learn to read and write. It is amazing at the progress that these small miracles make each and every day. Check the blog often to see school pictures and happenings and exciting times that we have in the classroom.
